I was trying to search on the web for a phone number for technical support and I couldn't find one. When I searched for Sage 50 Canada I only got ads I can't go to the website. Finally I mistakenly called a Sage reseller (didn't realize this until the next day) for help but they let on they were the real Sage. They logged into my computer the same way a real Sage Technician does but then they proceeded to tell me my files were corrupt and I needed to upgrade my subscription to include data protection. Of course this costs a lot of money.
I did not fall for this as I wanted to check it out more. Again I went on the web to search for Sage and it didn't come up right away. I finally found a number in an old email from a Sage technician and I called that number. They proceeded to tell me I had been scammed.
I am strongly recommending that you do something to allow the real Sage to be first on the search engine and then when you go to your website that the contact numbers are highly visible.
I encourage everyone to make sure you have the real numbers for Sage sales and technical support.
