Changing inventory item linked accounts should be simple

Currently, in single user mode, I can go into an inventory item and change the linked accounts. However, this doesn't actually move the inventory item to the new linked account fully. It's new transactions will be there and reporting will be there, but the value of the item at the old linked account will remain. There's a a full procedure for moving an inventory item from one account to another on Sage Knowledgebase. But you'd think that the act of changing the linked account would execute this in the background rather than making steps for it.

Now no one in our company knew of this procedure and have been at times shifting inventory items around accounts. There's no pop-up or anything telling you that if you change a linked account in the inventory item screen, you will screw up your general ledger. Then there's also no log of when inventory items changed accounts so it's extremely difficult to what was changed and when. So again, the obvious easy solution is to have the linked account change also execute a transaction to shift the inventory value to the new account and out of the old account.

It seems weird that Sage would put in a functionality that looks like it obviously does what it should do when it in fact doesn't and leaves no trail to fix the errror.
