I have been using Sage for almost 3 decades and will continue... as I truly love this product.
I am seeking for help on the following issue:
I recently notice that we are able to delete an G/L account even the account has transactions. For example, say vehicle exp, in year 2018 there are transacations and balance and account was not used since then. In fiscal year 2023, Sage allows the user to delete this account as I think it is the account balance was zero for past two fiscal year.
As a result, when the user try to general the F/S for 2018, an error message occur, and the balance of this account was omitted from F/S. And unfortunatley, the R/E was wrong (missing the expense for this account). This caused a big problem in accuracy of financial statement.
I suggested capability of deleting accounts with transactions (regarding which year) should be "restricted / or should not be allowed" rather than only rely on the customers to set block the access of CoA from their staff. Your understanding in the importance of this control is highly appreciated.
