In our real life experience we often have someone come in and hold an item in their hand - let's say a caliper - and want to know where or when we bought it. No other information. No item number, no PO, no date, no vendor/supplier - only the item itself.
There is no way (according to Sage tech support) to search for that. I find it completely brain-fogging that you can have a value field in your transaction, but not be able to search it! You can go under advanced search, and select it to search "item description" but it will still not find it.
Sage can run a myriad of reports but when you are customizing your reports, you only have 5 different things to filter/sort by, and item description is not on that list. So please, let me search for real life items, like hammer, chainsaw, computer, etc... the things a person puts in the memo, or the description.
PS. we don't all have items set up in the system to track that way.
